Springwood Mall is undergoing a $16m redevelopment that will transform the look and feel of the centre and create exciting retail opportunities around popular majors Woolworths and Target and the new Kaisercraft store.
Woolworths and Target have been part of Springwood Mall since it opened in 1986 and will continue to be part of the centre for years to come. Both will undergo internal refurbishments in addition to our centre-wide changes as part of the redevelopment. Woolworths will expand its size and refurbish its store and Target will slightly streamline its space to create more leasing opportunities for new retailers.
The redevelopment includes the following changes, planned for expected completion in June 2022:
More Car Parking & Better Pedestrian Access
- By expanding the underground car park and some external car parks, we will increase our car parks by 94 to a total of 933 spaces.
- Externally, we will improve traffic flow and upgrade zebra crossings and external footpaths for centre better access from the existing bus stop and future busway stop.
Facade / Entry Upgrades & Travelators
- The centre exterior will be totally modernised with a new façade and fresh entry points.
- Internal travelators will be added to an expanded underground car park to greatly improve customer access.
Internal Makeover & New Offices / Kiosks
- Internally, the centre will be transformed with new flooring, battened ceilings and upgraded furniture, plus more retail kiosks.
- New commercial office space over two levels will be added for additional services etc.
Woolworths Expansion & Direct to Boot Drive Thru
- Before Woolworths undertakes an internal store refurbishment in late 2021, we will enlarge their space and create a direct to boot drive thru to collect online orders, for customer convenience.
Dining Precinct
- We will create an al fresco, external dining precinct at the front of the centre to cater to changing local tastes.
